What's the best way to burn my candle?
For your first burn, please keep your Farmer’s Son Co. candle lit for at least two hours. Always allow the wax melt pool to reach the edges of the glass before extinguishing. This will allow your candle to burn evenly and prevents possible ‘tunneling.’ Thus allowing for a perfect burn experience until the very last burn
Be sure to trim your wick to ¼ inch before each burn to avoid wick curling. Never leave your burning candle unattended. Keep your burning candle out of reach of children, pets or drafts. Burn your candle on a heat-resistant surface. Keep the wick pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times
Always burn your candle in a well-ventilated room. Never touch a burning candle or move a candle while the wax is pooled. Allow glassware to cool completely before moving candle. Ensure that candle is completely extinguished and wick ember is no longer glowing before leaving candle unattended
Why soy wax?
Soy is a renewable resource and is carbon neutral. It burns cleanly, and for longer than paraffin waxes. It smells great when mixed with high grade fragrances. It’s a natural and non-toxic product.
We choose to work with a 100% soy wax, free of additives, paraffin or palm wax
Do you use essential oils in your candles?
Do you or your suppliers test on animals?
How fragrant are Farmer's Son Co. candles?
Can I re-purpose the glass my candle came in?
Can I request a donation of Farmer’s Son Co. goods for my event?
Farmer’s Son Co. candles are produced with fragrances that may contain traces of essential oils. However, at this time none of our products are produced with strictly essential oils. Our experiences have shown that quality fragrance oils offer a better scent throw than essential oils which tend to evaporate and lose their fragrance when burnt as they have such low flash points
Farmer’s Son Co. candles are produced with pure North American grown soybeans. Our wax supplier ensures that our wax is all natural, is biodegradable and is manufactured meeting FDA standards
Neither Farmer’s Son Co. nor our wax or fragrance suppliers test on animals. Our products contain no animal product, no palm wax, no petroleum, paraffin, beeswax products, pesticides, herbicides or toxic materials
Farmer’s Son Co. works with leading Canadian suppliers for all of our materials, ensuring that product is ethically sourced and produced
As we use natural soy wax, Farmer’s Son Co. candles do not offer the same throw as a paraffin or palm wax produced candle. The advantage to this is that our candles are not overwhelming and can be used each day
Farmer’s Son Co. candles fill a medium-sized room nicely. Should you be burning in a larger space or a room with a high ceiling, we would recommend burning two or more of our standard 8oz / 226g candles for peak optimal throw
Yes! Your Farmer’s Son Co. candle has purposely been produced in a reusable whiskey glass. When roughly ¼ inch of wax remains, discontinue use of candle and place candle in freezer. Once wax has hardened it, along with wick can be chipped out. Soap and water can be used to remove wax residue. Pour yourself a splash or two in your new glass and enjoy. Or simply clean and recycle
As a small, maker owned company, Farmer’s Son Co. receives far more donation requests that we are able to accommodate. At this time we are unable to handle requests for social prizes, individual support, religious organizations, individuals raising funds for non-profit organizations, political organizations or related
Donations are reviewed on a case by case basis; if you feel that your donation fits within our guidelines, you can forward a description of your event along with affiliated links to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will review and follow-up
